Stanford University wins the College Championship in 2016

We continue to be impressed with the talent, fortitude and passion of all the schools who perform and compete every year at the Next Generation College Salsa Congress!  The bar continues to be raised as choreography is more intricate and costumes more beautiful and sophisticated than ever before. Every dancer that takes the stage does so with finesse and grace and it is so inspiring to see!  We are so proud to be part of your dance journey and know you will continue to dance and inspire others with your PASSION, CREATIVITY and LOVE of this beautiful community  – Long live SALSA!

THE COLLEGE SALSA CHAMPIONSHIPS REQUIREMENTS

1.  Salsa Dance Team must be from an accredited college and must register and identify all team coaches and choreographers (student & professional) with the College Salsa Congress.
2.  A minimum of 3 couples consisting of a Lead and a Follow are needed to form a team.
3.  All competitors must be current Full-Time college students. Student Verification Forms must be turned in 1 week before competition.
4.  Maximum length of routine is 2:30 / Routine must be 90% salsa.
5.  Routine can be ‘on1’ or ‘on2’ however, the timing must stay consistent throughout entire routine.
6.  There is a maximum of 3 lifts/tricks allowed during the routine.  *A lift/trick for this competition is defined as an assisted move when both feet are off the ground and any part of the body is above the shoulders.
7.  Coaches and team choreographers associated with any of the college teams are not eligible to serve as judges.
8.  Transcripts verifying Full Time Student Status for each member of winning team must be submitted no later than 30 days after competition, otherwise your title & prize may be forfeited.
